Stratum back close to home to put another win on the board

Out of luck over at Aintree earlier with Foxhunter fifth placer Billaway Willie Mullins got on the score-sheet at his local venue when Stratum justified 6/4 favouritism in the Golf At Gowran Park Race.
Owner Tony Bloom’s Brighton went down two one to Man Utd at the weekend, after taking a first half lead, but look good for survival in the premier league.
Without success since his Newmarket Cesarewitch heroics in October 2019, Bloom's well-travelled Stratum showed his undoubted stamina over the extended mile and five to account for Springbank by four lengths.
Seamie Heffernan did the steering and Mullins stated: “It was a nice opportunity for him and he took it.
“We'll be looking at all those staying races with him and we'll see where he fits in. Ascot could be a plan.
“His owner spends a lot of time in Australia and the Melbourne Cup is always a plan in the back of our minds but we were disappointed how badly he ran there last year.
“We'll look for staying races wherever we can get them, be it America or England, and try and find what opportunities we can for him.”
