Stonemaster proves tough
Stonemaster ran out a game winner of the conditions hurdle at Cork for Dessie Hughes.
Davy Russell sent his mount up to challenge three out and the pair fought it out from there with Catch Me
A better jump at the last gave Stonemaster the edge and he kept on well to score by half-a-length from Won In The Dark who stayed on well to press the winner on the run-in.
"He's a nice horse and will probably go to Fairyhouse or Punchestown, wherever I can find a conditions race for him," said Hughes.
"He's a real chaser and will do that next season. We just gave him another year hurdling as we didn't think he was old enough to go chasing.
"He idles in front and does the minimum when he gets there."
