As Pat Keane of the Irish Examiner put it this morning, when tipping-up the filly, Precious Stone "has the capacity to bring down a bank" but on outing number eight today, the well-backed daughter of Galileo (7/2 in places earlier in the day into 15/8) delivered in the Christmas Party At Dundalk Fillies Maiden.
Out of the Listed winner, Anna Karenina, David Wachman's Precious Stone (a sister to Battle Of Marengo) got to the front from over a furlong out and she stayed on well to beat You Got Heart by two and three parts of a length.
Lordan said: "Back to a mile suited her (ran over ten furlongs last time) and she handled the surface pretty well (1st visit to Dundalk).
"We felt she didn't stay the last day. I tucked her in today and got a lead (had made the running at Down Royal on September 14th)." (AM & EM)
