Steviemac racks up hat-trick
Steviemac completed a hat-trick when running out a game winner of the two-mile handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Paddy Flood sent his mount to the front just after the second last. He had to pull out all the stops on the run-in, however, as The Quiet Enforcer kept on strongly to get within half a length.
"He's turned into a nice horse. He had plenty of weight today but did it well," said trainer Gerry Keane.
"He tends to idle a bit in front. Paddy likes him a lot. He'll get an entry in what used to be the Pierse Hurdle and it depends what weight he gets. Whether he would be good enough for that I don't know.
"There is another race for him at Leopardstown over Christmas but he'd hardly go for the both of them. Chasing is probably his job down the road."
