Speedy comes good for Stanley
Dual point-to-point winner Speedy Max came good on the track when claiming the beginners chase at Downpatrick for Ratoath handler George Stanley.
David Boland sent his mount up to chase Hot Oscar from five out and he got to the lead before the final fence.
He looked to be tiring in the closing stages but found more close home to score by half a length from Hot Oscar. A Certain Gent finished strongly in third.
"He's a fine horse but has been very unfortunate from the day he started. He always had some little mishap," said Stanley.
"I only have a very small yard and have three to run. We'll look for a handicap for this lad now."
