Smullen completes double
Star Of Aragon

Pat Smullen moved into a clear advantage at the head of the Flat Jockey's Championship when completing a double on the James Nash trained Star Of Aragon in the Owenduff Handicap at Wexford today.
Smullen steered his 22nd winner of the campaign (one ahead of Wayen Lordan) on the 3/1 shot who got the better of Liberty Love by three parts of a length.
Afterwards Nash said “I didn't think he'd handle the ground and neither did Pat (Smullen) - he never before won without 'Firm' in the going description.
“He is well handicapped on the Flat and hopefully he'll win another one but is a better hurdler and is rated 120 over them. That might get him into the Galway Hurdle but if it doesn't, he'll have to run in another race before then. I'm looking forward to the summer with him.”
