Smullen completes Leopardstown double
Tillahow runner-up on his previous two starts, lost his maiden tag at the third attempt when winning the ‘Delorentos’ Maiden for trainer Joseph Murphy.
Pat Smullen, successful half-an-hour earlier on Famous Name in the Meld Stakes, completed a double here leading two furlongs out to beat Devils Bit by three lengths.
Murphy said afterwards: “He’s a lovely horse, he’s my favourite horse and there’s lots of improvement to come.”
“He’s still a bit immature and green but he’ll improve with age and we’ll take our time with him.”
