Smullen at best on Fungible

Liam McAteer was delighted with the ride Pat Smullen gave his charge Fungible to win the Tote Placepot Handicap at Roscommon on Tuesday evening.

Smullen elected to make his challenge on the wide outside in the home straight in an effort to find better ground and the tactic paid off with the gelding running out a comfortable two lengths winner.

´That is why top trainers use top jockeys,´ quipped McAteer afterwards.
