Sizzling gained a well-deserved Group 3 success when taking the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.
Seamus Heffernan made the decisive move at halfway when sending the daughter of Galileo up to dispute the pace and she led approaching the straight.
The well-backed 7/2 chance stayed on strongly from over a furlong out in this 1m4f event, and had two and a quarter lengths to spare at the line. Kalaxana took the runner-up spot, with Turret Rocks a further three lengths back in third.
Winning trainer Aidan O’Brien said, “Seamus gave her a great ride. He was very committed on her, and at halfway he said come on. She’s a hardy tough filly.
“She’s been trying to win a Group race for a good while and has been placed in a good few.
“Something like the Park Hill could suit her as she gets a mile and six well.”
This gave O'Brien a double at Cork as his Zagitova won nicely in the opener.
