Sizing Codelco showed the benefit of previous fencing experience to justify odds of 4/5 in the Allman Contracts Limited Beginners Chase at Listowel.
Only four of the nine participants here got round, but Sizing Codelco looked to be getting the best of the argument when Mr Picotee Gambling Girl and Blair Perrone all came down independently at the second last fence.
Jonathan Burke 's mount then went on to triumph by eight lengths from Rock On Fruity
"He jumped brilliant and quickened up well. There's every chance he could go to a high level over fences," said Burke of the Potts-owned and Henry de Bromhead-trained Flemensfirth gelding.
"He's a fine scopey sort and did that well."
Paul Carberry came down at the first aboard Rich Coast and he is receiving ongoing medical attention - leg injury.
