Silver has Lyons Gleaming
Gleaming Silver is held in good regard by trainer Ger Lyons, and the grey daughter of Dalakhani repaid his confidence by swooping late down the centre of the course to land the mile maiden.
Keagan Latham 's mount, well-backed from 8/1 in to 5/1, came widest of all in the straight and finished strongly to edge out Hideaway Girl by a neck, with 33/1 chance Precious Gem coming home well just a short-head further back in third.
'I like her a lot, she's honest and we came here to guarantee getting her ground. Her dam Green Lassy only came to herself as a four-year-old and won the Ulster Derby,' said Lyons.
He added, 'It was my mistake to run here in March as she wasn't right and lost a lot of weight afterwards. I'm hoping she's Listed class, and she will want a mile and a quarter plus.'
