Silk Forest put up the performance of the afternoon when taking the Naas Racecourse Business Club Irish EBF Garnet Stakes in exciting fashion.
The Kodiac filly won a Leopardstown maiden in August and was strongly supported to follow up here being supported in the morning from as big as 25/1 and further backed on track from 10/1 into 7/1.
Billy Lee elected to make all in this mile Listed event, and she took command from over a furlong out to score by five lengths.
Trethias could only keep on at one pace in second with Jumellea finishing well half-a-length further back in third.
Winning trainer Paddy Twomey said , “She’s always been a nice filly and we’ve taken our time with her. I picked out this race a while ago and I said we’d run here and then keep her for the spring next year.
“She doesn’t mind the soft ground and I think she has the ability to win a Group race. She’s always been able to do that.”
