Curragh trainer Johnny Levins has his string in great heart at present and Showmolina was his latest winner when taking Division l of the Lacey's Plumbing And Heating Supplies Apprentice Handicap at Naas.
Third at Down Royal last month, the son of Showcasing was held up early by Joey Sheridan before making ground into mid division at halfways.
Once asked for more, the five-year-old found plenty for pressure and stayed on strongly to head Claras Approach close home.
It was the trainers third success of the week, following wins for Aristovic and Shabaaby respectively.
"That was lovely, we've been waiting a long time for that to happen,” said Levins.
“He fluffs the start too often and has given a few races away.
“He stayed on really when third in Down Royal, when Cillian McConnell gave him a lovely ride, and that put a smile on his face.
“Shabaaby (second) went on to win for us in Bellewstown so we came here quietly confident.
“I can't believe Joey Sheridan is still allowed to ride in these types of races, he's worth 10lb in an apprentice race. He gave him a brilliant ride.
“The ground is like carpet out there and he handled it really well. Top marks to Naas.”
