Shouband out quick for the win

Roger Loughran has had a great association with Peregrine Run recently and he struck on John Morrison's Shouband in the Thurles Handicap Chase today.
Loughran has won three on Peter Fahey's Peregrine Run, and here he was aboard a well-backed runner in Shouband (10s into 6s on track and from bigger earlier).
Morrison owns, bred and trains Shouband and he'll doubtless have been delighted to see his charge come through after getting a patient ride, to deliver his challenge in the straight.
He eventually led before the last and kept on strongly on the run-in to defeat Rockshandy by four lengths.
"His run in Gowran was probably good enough. He's a bit hit and miss but whatever day he turns up and settles that's it," reported Loughran.
Shouband ran well in a handicap hurdle when seventh behind The Fitz Lady at Cork just last Sunday.
