Shewearsitwell completed a treble on the card for Willie Mullins, as she made all in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares INH Flat Race.
Making her debut this evening, the daughter of Shirocco was sent off the 1/2 favourite under Patrick Mullins for the Closutton Racing Club.
Sent straight to the front, supporters of the bay five-year-old never really had a moments worry, as she pushed along to extend her advantage from the furlong pole, going on to score easily by five and a half lengths.
Fellow newcomer Cottie (20/1) ran a nice race to take second under Pat Taaffe for his father Tom. More Info (7/2) originally finished third with Sheer Liss (40/1) fourth, however their positions were later reversed (see Stewards report below).
Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "The syndicate was resurrected recently by James Fenton, having had winners in the past with O'Hana in 2007 and they have a couple of nice mares.
"This mare had been working very well at home and I think she'll win plenty more races. She was very professional out in front and she has plenty of gears.
"I think she could be a black-type mare, and could possibly get it in something like the Gowran Listed Bumper (in October)."
Willie Mullins was earlier on the mark with Kaatskill Nap and Bon Retour while he also saddled the runner-up in the first, second and fifth races respectively.
STEWARDS REPORT
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving More Info, ridden by Mr J. Hogan, placed third and Sheer Liss, ridden by Mr M.J.M. O'Sullivan, placed fourth, where it appeared Sheer Lass suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that More Info had caused interference to Sheer Liss and in doing so had improved it's finishing position.
The Stewards therefore reversed the Judge's placings of the third and fourth placed horses and took no further action.
The result now reads;
1st Shewearsitwell.
2nd Cottie,
3rd Sheer Lass,
4th More Info,
5th Whispering Gypsy
6th Family Business
