Shernaz Does Better on Return to Tramore
Shernaz third on his last run over the course and distance forty days ago, returned to Tramore to go a couple of places better in the Drumcannon Handicap Hurdle. Andrew Lynch led on this six-year-old before the last before going on to account for 9/2 joint favourite, Cloverhill Lad by four lengths.
Winning trainer, Philip Dempsey, commented: "He won a point-to-point last year in Ballingarry. He was crying out for this ground. He'll run in handicaps for the rest of the summer. He is a great jumper. I was disappointed with Sharp River in the first but this makes up for it. The owner, Paul Heneghan, has another filly in the yard too."
