Sheehan off the mark on Billion
Gavin Sheehan partnered his first winner under rules when successful aboard Whatsabillion not totally friendless at 16/1 (25's in the morning), in the Prime Beef Handicap Hurdle.
John Murphy 's charge was never far from the pace and, having led at the penultimate flight, asserted before making a mistake at the last.
However that error made little difference as the nine-year-old kept on well to beat top-weight Alwaystheoptimist by nine lengths.
The Dunmanway teenager has already ridden two winners in point-to-points, and is a recruit from the pony racing circuit.
