The T.A.Morris Memorial EBF (Mares) Chase saw the 11/8 favourite Shattered Love repeat last year’s success in the hands of Mark Walsh.
The Yeats mare, rising 10 now and taking her career record to 11 wins from 30 starts, kept tabs on front-running market rival Cabaret Queen (6/4) throughout before readily leaving that one behind from the second-last fence for a ten length victory.
She’s unbeaten in three starts at Clonmel, and of course her career highlight was her Cheltenham Festival victory in 2018 when she landed the JLT Novices’ Chase.
It was a quick double for winning trainer Gordon Elliott after Sassy Yet Classy rsquo;s win in the previous contest.
"She loves it around here, said Walsh.
“It was her third win from her third run and she seems to be a lot better in her own grade against other mares.
"She has won two Grade 1s as a novice but finds it easier against her own sex.
"I'm delighted with how she did it and jumped brilliantly bar the last when we had a little mix-up but she was good."
The winner was given a quote of 10/1 (from 20s) by the sponsors for the Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase at next year’s Cheltenham Festival.
