Shatharaat was a 40/1 skinner for the bookmakers in the concluding seven furlong maiden at Listowel.
He was making his first start for Andrew Oliver having been picked up cheaply after finishing last of nine on debut at Pontefract when with Mark Johnston.
The three-year-old son of Kodiac had been gelded since his first race and made the long journey down to Co Kerry from Co Tyrone.
He made headway under Wayne Lordan to take a narrow lead from Alternate Peace before halfway. Laughifuwant delivered his challenge on the run to the final furlong but Shatharaat finished off strongest in the final 150 yards to take the spoils by two and a quarter lengths.
Laughifuwant came home second at 6/1 with Spirit Of Big Bang the 11/10 favourite, back in third.
