The Oliver Brady trained Shabra Charity landed the Fashion On The Field Beginners Steeplechase at Downpatrick today, scoring a second career success for owners, the Shabra Charity Club.
Ridden by Mattie Bowes, the daughter of Rudimentary was produced to lead at the final fence before stretching clear on the run-in for a comfortable eight and a half lengths win over Latin Connection
Brady was not present for the win but Bowes later reported “she jumped lovely and she'll appreciate better ground. Oliver said to give her a positive ride and to educate her.”
The winning owners, the Shabra Charity Club, are supporters of Brady's charity which raises money for many good causes, and can be seen at http://shabracharity.com .
Photographer Pat Healy (on duty at the track today) is a member of the Club and those who read his popular weekly blog in the Irish Field will also be familiar with fellow members and good friends Chips (Michael Gannon), Sneeky Boo (Maurice Sheehy Snr) and Berkie Browne.
