On a night when his mentor Michael Halford topped the winter campaign on the polytrack 'Dusty' Foley got on the score-sheet aboard Ken Condon's great old campaigner Little Arrows in the Dundalk Stadium Winter Series Awards Rated Race.
A session that started with Iron Major securing his eighth victory, in this extended ten furlong contest Little Arrows made most to register a seventh career success. Sharjah was there challenging strongly with a big chance from two furlongs out but Little Arrows held him off to score by a head.
Foley reflected: "He's a good servant and always runs his race.
"He got an easy lead in front. He's a hard horse to peg back at home and it's great that it's worked out tonight."
The Stewards fined Garvan Donnelly, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Home Secretary (GB), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
