Tony Carroll's English raider Serenity Spa appreciated dropping back from the Listed company she kept at Lingfield only last Saturday to take the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Handicap under Pat Smullen.
Smullen rode the Excellent Art filly in the Seasons Holidays silks of Trevor Hemmings and she got home by a head and a short head from Kimbay and Chillie Billie
Only about four and a quarter lengths separated the first ten home here and well-backed market-leader, Whaileyy (from around 4/1 this morning into 7/4) had to settle for eighth place.
"The key was to get her to relax and thankfully they went a good gallop. She's a very genuine filly," remarked Smullen.
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Grey Danube trained by D.J. Bunyan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared up leaving stalls.
