Seismic stuck on gamely to open his account in the concluding two-mile handicap at Clonmel this evening.
Wayne Lordan led early on the well-backed 7/2 favourite (from 7/1) but was headed after a couple of furlongs as the other horse for money Burrenbridge Lodge (9/1 this morning – returned 4/1) pulled his way into the lead.
Gordon Elliott 's charge disputed again with half a mile to run and was driven to assert at the two furlong pole.
He kept on well in the closing stages as Roisin Dubh finished well to take the second, a length-and-a-quarter adrift.
The winner had run on well to finish fifth at Navan last month over 1m5f and was tackling today's marathon trip for the first time.
“He has been knocking on the door and Wayne said the last time that he'd win on him the next day,” said Elliott.
“He'll be a grand jumper for the summer and he's for sale. He could go to Perth next week for a novice hurdle.”
