Seefood and Barry Geraghty come home in style at Wexford

Barry Geraghty had two mounts at Wexford and he came away with a 100 per cent record as Seefood followed up Stonehall Jack s victory in the first as he turned the Listed M.W. Hickey Memorial Chase into a procession.
Those that questioned Seefood's jumping, including this observer, were given their answer in emphatic style as the Kahyasi gelding never really missed a beat and ended up slamming his two rivals, Thomond and Bonisland by all of thirty nine lengths and nineteen lengths.
This came down to a three horse affair after Pollywollydoodle had refused to race.
Sandra Hughes representing her father, winning trainer Dessie, said: "He loves that ground and he needed the three miles.
“It was too short at Limerick for him. Limerick sharpened up his jumping as they were going that bit faster and he had to jump them.
“He is improving but he is a good ground horse so I don't know what is left for him really as the rain is probably coming. There might be another one somewhere but he is one to look forward to for next summer."
Meanwhile Geraghty disclosed: "He needed the three miles and the juice in the ground helped. His jumping has improved and he learned a bit over the sharper trip at Limerick the last day. The trip brings out the best in him. He is going the right way." (DM & EM)
