Lord Scoundrel found plenty on the run-in, for Bryan Cooper, to record a convincing success in the rated chase at Thurles.

Gordon Elliott 's charge, in the Gigginstown colours, disputed for most of the 2m2f trip with Sizing Platinum and a fine leap four out gave him the advantage.

He was strongly pressed by that rival again two from home while even-money favourite Tennis Cap also joined in.

Cooper got a good response from 9/4 shot Lord Scoundrel, however, and he stayed on stoutly from the last to record a length-and-a-half success over Tennis Cap. Sizing Platinum was 16-lengths back in third.

The winner had rattled off three victories over fences earlier in the season and was subsequently placed four times.

"From day one he was always a good jumper and his jumping was unreal today,” said Cooper.

"Real heavy ground caught him out a bit during the winter but the dryness in the ground helped him today. He's a grand fun horse and enjoys his racing."
