Sarteano battles well at Tramore
Sarteano from the Dessie Hughes stable out-stayed his rivals to land the ‘Tote Trifecta Rollover’ Handicap.
Emmett McNamara who was in the saddle was hard at work aboard the 4/1 shot two furlongs out.
The seven year old responded well to pressure to get up in the closing stages and deny Luigina Immacolata by a length and a quarter.
Winning jockey McNamara said: “I had my third winner for Dessie [Hughes] and this was my first ride for him since so it was nice to get the ride.”
“He did well in the end he out-stayed them but he certainly made it hard work.”
