Sarrocchi looks set to head to the paddocks after her victory in the Rathasker Clodovil Irish EBF Garnet Stakes at Naas this afternoon.
Aidan O'Brien 's charge produced a game front-running performance, under Seamie Heffernan, to claim the Listed contest.
The Galileo filly had her rivals on the stretch going to the two pole in the mile event.
The field started to close inside the final furlong but the 7/1 shot had enough in reserve to record a three-parts-of-a-length win. Damselfly just prevailed in a tight finish for the runner-up spot, a short-head in front of Could It Be Love
Sarrocchi had won on debut at Leopardstown last October and had been highly tried in Group company this season, her best effort coming when fourth in the Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh.
“That was great and Seamus gave her great ride,” said O'Brien.
“She had some very good runs. She had a break and this was her first run back.
“She's very genuine. She kept going and kept trying. It's great for a filly to win a stakes race like that.
“It's good to get it and I think she'll be off to stud now. We'll give some of the others a chance.”
