Sam King wins for Ted and Ruby
Father and son Ted and Ruby Walsh combined to win the Bet Online With Toals.co.uk Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick today with 9/4 joint-favourite Sam King who made all for an effortless 22 lengths win.
Jockey Ruby Walsh had few moments of concern in the 2m7f contest as the point-to-point winner ran his rivals ragged, eventually maintaining his gallop for a wide-margin win.
Afterwards Grand National winning trainer Ted Walsh stated “he kept it simple there and he jumps well and stays going. It was an ordinary race and the favourite (joint favourite Night Generation didn't operate.
“He (Sam King) ran too keen in Limerick and the ground was soft and it was also a good competitive handicap. He'll go for Tramore next week.”
