Sainte finds an opportunity
Sainte Kadette (10/1) bridged a three year barren gap since landing a juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham for David Pipe when staying on gamely under Donal MacAuley to take the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.
The Seamus O'Farrell-trained mare was sent on after three out, and was driven right out in the closing stages to hold on by a diminishing neck from Stonehatchetmad Green To Gold (7/4fav) was bidding for a hat-trick but found little under pressure approaching the straight eventually finishing fourth.
“She's a very genuine lady and really gives all she has. She deserves a little break now,” said the trainer's wife Cathy O'Farrell.
