David Marnane has an exciting programme lined up for He’s No Saint after the juvenile confirmed the promise of his two previous outings when taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden.
The Dutch Art colt had gone close twice including on debut here last month, and made no mistake here with a commanding performance from the front at odds of 15/8
Fergal Lynch’s mount drew clear in the final furlong to beat Lady Mega (16/1) by three and a quarter lengths, with Sandy Smile (9/1) another half-length adrift in third.
The 5/6 favourite Atlantic Sea held every chance but could find no extra from over a furlong out to finish fourth.
Marnane said, “He’s a smart horse and we’ve always liked him. He’s kept improving and will improve more.
“He’ll come back here for the seven furlong Listed race (Star Appeal Stakes on October 11) and will then be put away for Dubai.
“He will be aimed at the same races as Elleval was last winter. He definitely wants a mile.”
