Russell serves up double
Davy Russell completed a double at Wexford today, and moved 15 winners clear of nearest pursuer Barry Geraghty (52-37) at the head of the Jump Jockeys’ Championship, when steering Best Served Cold to win the INH Stallion Farms Owners EBF Novice Hurdle.
Afterwards winning trainer Michael Hourigan stated “Best Served Cold is a nice horse to look forward to and stays and jumps well. He only ran a week ago but it was my call to bring him here.
“He has his job done for the moment but I’ll give him three weeks to a month off now. He’ll probably run at Limerick or Leopardstown over Christmas and the Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle at Limerick is a possibility.”
