Davy Russell completed a 'double-double' on the weekend before Cheltenham, following up yesterday's heroics at Gowran with a fourth winner in two days, steering Fletcher to a 20/1 win in the Naas Supporters Handicap Hurdle at Naas today.
Russell, successful half an hour earlier on Fine Rightly in the Grade 3 feature, produced Fletcher with perfect timing to lead after the last, eventually staying on well for a half length win over 25/1 chance Mrs Mac Veale
Winning trainer Eddie Harty wasn't present but Russell later briefly reported "fair play to Eddie (Harty) and the lads as we actually thought this lad was no good at the start but they stuck with him."
