Ruby gets his reward at Wexford
Ruby Walsh made his journey back from Ffos Las (he rode a winner there on Carsonstown Boy) worthwhile when steering chase debutant Themoonandsixpence to a good five length win in the concluding Audrey McGrath Memorial Beginners Chase.
The ex-Denis Murphy trained Loughrea point-to-point winner was easy in the market but he led with a circuit to go and he only needed to be shaken up on the run-in to beat Ballylanigan (from the very much in form Gordon Elliott yard).
Successful trainer Willie Mullins said: "He'll probably go for a novice chase in Listowel. I was pleased with his jumping as he was gaining lengths in the air. We'll probably put him away for the winter then as he prefers good ground. He'll be back for next summer."
Husband of the winning owner, Richard Ricci was present for the victory.
