Routes Choice caused a 33/1 shock when returning to form in the Roches Feeds Handicap Hurdle at Limerick.
The King’s Theatre mare gained her previous two wins on a testing surface and she appreciated the ease in the ground here.
Robbie Power sent her past the front-running Spyglass Hill approaching the final flight, and she kept on well on the run-in to score by three and a quarter lengths.
The pace-setting topweight dead-heated for the runner-up spot along with Cappacurry Hill, while Market’s Field was a further six and a half lengths away in fourth.
Winning trainer Philip Dempsey said, “She loves that ground and it was the first time that she has had it (this season). We were getting a bit impatient to run her and probably shouldn’t have run her in Fairyhouse.
“She was well treated compared to her chasing mark. She’s a moody sort of a mare but had been going well at home.”
