Rossdara scores for Cooper
The Tom Cooper trained Rossdara justified favouritism when coming home in front of the Downpatrick EBF Mares Novice Hurdle in the hand of Barry Geraghty.
Geraghty who attempted to make all was briefly headed two out by Spare Shilling but kept on well to regain the lead at the last.
The 11/10 favourite idled in front on the run-in but kept on well to hold off the fast finishing Maryiver by three parts of a lengths.
A delighted Cooper said afterwards: " She did it well, the most obvious option would be to go for the mares novice hurdle at Fairyhouse over the Easter."
"She has some very good form and she probably wasn't a 100% when she ran at Christmas. "
"She came up against a very good horse in For Bill the last day at Clonmel, the groud was probably a shade too heavy for her that day."
