The Garvan Donnelly trained Rocky’s Pride has been to an array of different racecourses in Ireland and Britain (where trained by four different trainers) but seems to have found his real home at Dundalk, winning his second consecutive race, the Follow Dundalk On Facebook Rated Race, at the venue.
The son of Rock Of Gibraltar, ridden again today by Seamie Heffernan, was previously successful at Brighton, Lingfield and Leicester prior to both wins at Dundalk and Donnelly later said “Rocky’s Pride came out of the race so well last week that we let him take his chance today.
“He is enjoying his racing and it has suited him to be in front as he doesn’t like to be knocked about. Hopefully there is another day in him and it’s good to win for his owner Gerard Clarke, who is a good supporter of mine. In fact I think his last three runners have all been winners!”
