The ultra-consistent Little King Robin made all to take the opener at Bellewstown this evening, the Good Enuf To Eat Catering Mares Hurdle.

The Colin Bowe trained six-year-old, who now hasn’t finished worse than third on her last nine starts, was friendless with punters and having opened the 6/4 favourite last night she went off a 5/2 chance.

All the money came for Morga and Ballychorus The former was 7/4 last night but opened on-course at 11/10 before going off the clear 5/4 favourite.

Ballychorus was available at 6/1 this morning and she went from 9/2 to 10/3 on-course.

The winner was ridden after the second last and she kept on well from there to score by two and three parts of a length under Mark Walsh.

Ballychorus attempted to challenge from the second last but she never managed to get on terms and had to settle for second under Danny Mullins for his mother Mags. Railway Zira was a further two and three parts of a length back in third while Morga proved a big disappointment finishing a tailed off fifth of six under Davy Russell for Des McDonogh.

Colin Bowe said afterwards: "She's as tough as boots.

“We'll give her a break now and she'll probably come back in December or January. She's ground dependent so wouldn't run much over the winter.

"The mares race at Cheltenham is the long-term plan."

STEWARDS REPORTS

D.N. Russell, rider of Morga trained by Desmond McDonogh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Morga, trained by Desmond McDonogh, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have Burst a Blood Vessel.
