The Willie McCreery trained Rivers Of Babylon gained a deserved first win at Gowran today, landing the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Fillies Maiden under Connor King.
The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor had previous form figures of '4232' and made use of that experience today, breaking smartly and making all for a two and a half length win over newcomer Eshera
Afterwards McCreery stated "she deserved that and got a few lengths at the start, and we didn't want to make it complicated.
"Connor (King) thought we should have made a bit more use of her at Limerick, and then it rained all day at Chester (on her latest start).
"I always thought she was a smart filly and we'll see what the handicapper does; she'll probably go for a Listed race at some stage."
