Ringdufferin made virtually all to land the rated novice hurdle over an extended two miles five furlongs in Downpatrick.
The 9/2 shot was joined by Jay Jay Zee before the penultimate flight, but regained the lead on the run to the last.
He was ridden on the run-in to move four lengths clear of a staying-on Luminous Light (8/1).
Gordon Elliott said: "Jack (Kennedy) gave him a lovely ride, he got to dictate it from the front.
"Great for the owner, Alan Dunlop, who is local and here with all his friends at their local track.
"We'll try and find something for him, but it is great he has won now."
The five-year-old gelding got off the mark at the eighth time of asking and sported cheekpieces for the first time.
Ringdufferin is a townland north of Killyleagh near Downpatrick.
