The Noel Meade trained Road To Riches bounced back to form with a win on his chase debut in the Naas Annual Membership Beginners Chase at Naas today.
The winner, ridden by Davy Russell for owners Gigginstown House Stud, made virtually all and stayed on well on the run-in to defeat Foxrock by two lengths.
Afterwards Meade stated “I was worried after the way he finished up last season and we've changed things a bit. The main thing is I'm trying to keep him fresh and you probably won't see him too often.
“He just wasn't right after he won in Cork last season but he is some leaper and maybe that trip (2m3f) is more what he wants than three miles. I was pleased with the way he quickened between the last two fences and Davy said he didn't have to ask him to jump - he just did it.”
