Redstaroverchina sprang a 40/1 surprise in the Birdcatcher Day 18th October Race as she got up close home to deny the odds-on favourite Al Qahwa
Fifth on her debut over the course and distance last month the Eddie Lynam trained daughter of Starspangledbanner was sent off the outsider of the field.
Settled towards rear by Pat Smullen she was a close fourth a furlong out and soon came with her challenge down the outer, getting up close home to score by a neck.
Al Qawha was sent off the well-backed 4/6 favourite (from 10/11) and he had to settle for second under Shane Foley for Mick Halford after attempting to make all.
Eddie Lynam said afterwards: "I was talking to myself after the way she ran the first day but she picked up and learned today.
"We'll look for a bit of black type now as she's a well-bred filly. That's my first for the owner (Tan Kai Chah) so that's good."
