Another Rebel ran his rivals ragged in the Mr Mister Menswear Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel.
Paddy Kennedy elected to make all the running on the 11/1 chance and, despite some untidy jumping in the straight, stretched clear for an easy win.
The Croco Rouge gelding blundered two out but it seemed to make little difference as he quickly drew clear and, after again being far from fluent at the last, came home 13 lengths ahead of Soteira (16/1). Sizing Solution (15/8) could find no extra from early in the straight fading back to finish another 15 lengths away in third, while well-backed 7/4 favourite Asitsohappens was only a moderate fourth when falling at the last.
Winning trainer Mick Winters said, “I’m delighted with him. He ran well the last day, and the ease in the ground probably helped today. The others may have wanted it a bit better. I fancied him to be in the money and he was a great price.
“I’ll keep him on the go now for the summer. He’s a little bit wired!”
