Rambling Rake shows his potential
David Wachman’s Rambling Rake made an impressive debut when sprinting away from his rivals in Cork’s opening six furlong juvenile maiden.
Billy Lee sent the colt on at the furlong pole and the duo came home clear by two lengths at 12/1 ahead of 2/1 favourite Rockview Diamond with Nini Ok back in third for local trainer John Joseph Murphy.
Successful trainer Wachman said: “He’s a grand horse and did it well from an outside draw.
“Billy Lee said he was fairly green and should improve nicely.
“Seven furlongs is his trip. He will step up to stakes company next.”
There was money for Kingdomforthebride (16/1 to 12/1) but Jim Gorman's filly finished second last of the nine runners.
