Quirky Ardagh's Choice (9/1) bridged a two-year gap between wins today, rewarding his jockey Kevin Sexton with success in Wexford's concluding Racing Again October 30th & 31st Handicap Chase.
Ardagh's Choice surrendered a huge lead at Kilbeggan last month when attempting to pull up passing the parade ring but today Sexton successfully chartered a brave route, racing on the outside, as they passed many exit gates.
Racing prominently, the pair beat runner-up Walking The Walk by seven lengths.
The seven year old had also refused in a chase in May and winning trainer Eamonn 'Dusty' Sheehy reported “in fairness his is quirky and he'd have won in Kilbeggan only for what happened.
“I thought he'd win today but with all the rain, I got watery!”
He added “he likes to go a trip and is in great form. The horses were out of form but they are coming back now and he'll go for a same race again, or a hurdle. He is very much ground dependent and wouldn't want it any worse than yielding.
“Hopefully we can kick a few more over the bar.”
