Quietly Fancied wins Thurles opener
The opening Cashel Maiden Hurdle at Thurles today saw the Oliver McKiernan trained Quietly Fancied run out a convincing 12/1 winner under John Cullen.
Cullen held the son of Presenting up on the inner before moving through to lead before the straight, eventually running out a five lengths winner over the Big Boyo.
Afterwards McKiernan reported “”Quietly Fancied won his point to point well but had some leg trouble afterwards. However he has been working well and was just a little fresh when he ran out at Wexford on his only other race.”
He added “we'll go for a winners' race next and he seems to go on any ground. He is a natural jumper and did that well today.”
