The Liam Lennon trained Howwoulduno caused a 25/1 upset to win the opening O2 Maiden Hurdle at Down Royal today, scoring under a well timed ride from Shane Butler.
Butler produced the son of Desert King to lead at the final flight before staying on well to hold runner-up Old Pride on the run-in.
Afterwards Lennon's brother Deccy Lennon stated “we think he's a nice horse but he needs good ground. He could make a good two mile chaser in time – Shane (Butler) said he travelled and jumped brilliantly and also says to look after this horse. We'll never again run him on soft ground.”
Lennon added “we've also just had a winner at Enniskillen point to point five minutes ago (Withoutwings)!”
