Profound Beauty wins Saval Beg Stakes
Dermot Weld has Melbourne Cup ambitions with his Profound Beauty which landed her seventh win, when claiming Age Of Aquarius #8217; scalp in the Listed Seamus & Rosemary McGrath Memorial Saval Beg Stakes at Leopardstown today.
Ridden by Pat Smullen, Profound Beauty ranged up to take the lead from Age Of Aquarius a furlong out, eventually staying on well for a half length win.
Afterwards Weld stated “Profound Beauty is a very very good racemare and she may finish her career in the Melbourne Cup in November. Her next race may be the Curragh Cup while the Yorkshire Cup is another possible race before Melbourne. The ground today was beautiful and she loved the surface.”
