Princess Rajj credited apprentice jockey Alan Glynn with a fourth career win today, landing Listowel's Croom House Stud Handicap for his employer Jessica Harrington.
Running in Harrington's own colours, the daughter of Rajj raced prominently throughout and while strongly pressed by both Galleria Borghese and National Gallery Glynn kept the filly going for a hands-and-heels half length win.
Afterwards Kate Harrington, representing her mother, said “she seems to be on an upward curve, she was in charge and I think she loved not being bullied. We'll find another little race and she is there for the apprentices in the yard to play away with.
“She initially received 13lb for winning at Sligo, which I thought was fairly hard on her, but all horses got dropped a pound, so it was 12.”
She added “Alan had a winner on Sweet Dime for us a few years ago, he works hard for us and it is brilliant for him.
“I have to say thanks to Willie McCreery (trainer) as we couldn't get the tongue-tie on her and her mother (Princesss Aloof) was coming out in her! Willie's height helped us get it on.”
