Prince pips Mind on post
Prince Of Fashion got up in the dying strides to land the ten furlong handicap at Fairyhouse. Umindme looked set for victory when kicking for home a furlong-and-a-half out but was mugged close home.
Fran Berry got a good tune from Prince Of Fashion inside the final furlong to chase down his rival and pip him for a neck success.
It was the first start of the year for the John Geoghegan-trained Desert Prince gelding.
"He's a funny type of horse. He was on and of the bridle the whole way," said the Maynooth handler.
"He's always worked well but he's a bit of an eejit! He's a half-brother to Invincible Ash and will pay his way if he keeps his mind on the job.
"I was expecting a good run as he worked well during the week. The tongue-strap was a big help today." Snuggle Up was the gamble of the race, backed from 12/1 into 6/1, but failed to make an impact back in 13th.
