Power steps-in to get Vic home
Eddie Power deputised for Sean McDermott (stood down for the day after getting a fall in the opener off Seaside Shuffle on Knockbrack Vic the game winner of the Ballypatrick Handicap Hurdle for trainer John Joe Walsh.
Knockbrack Vic and Whatsabillion had it between them up the straight and the former pulled out what was required on the run-in to prevail by half a length. Stonethrower finished by far the best of the tired field to take the third spot, four and a half lengths back.
Walsh commented: "She's tough, she stays and she goes on the ground. She has been a bit unlucky and it is grand for her owner, Vincie O'Connor who bred her as well. He is from Abbeyfeale."
The Steward's called an enquiry but the result was quickly confirmed.
